Backyard Story Circles: Won’t You Be My Neighbor

1530 Sheridan Ave.

7:00–8:30 pm

Longfellow friend and neighbor, Jennifer New, has offered to host Backyard Story Circles on the night before the Front Porch Music Festival. Jennifer is a writer, mother, and yogi.

The theme for Backyard Story Circles is “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” and there will be prompts and directions to help get us going. Everyone has a story about a neighbor—mysterious, generous, or perhaps even someone with a contention about a fence line.

You don’t need to have a story in mind before you come. We’ll spend a little time brain storming. And then we’ll be in small groups of 6 to 8 to actually swap stories.

Please bring a lawn chair and something small to write on—just in order to take some initial notes for a story. If you want a beverage, bring that too! Enter through the gate on Dearborn to get to the backyard.

This is an open event, so anyone is welcome. Kids who are old enough to listen and share are welcome!
